Update on Eddie

Hollychan Aug 26, 2008 08:42 PM

Okay, for those of you who remember, I bought Eddie from Petsmart back on the Fifteenth of February of this year. He was kind of a belated Valentine's present to myself. ^_^ Okay, so here's a picture of him eating a pinky shortly after I got him home:

And another:

Now... I took a couple of pictures today. He's massive. He eats two small mice every week. I also noticed that he's about to shed *again*.

Thanks. I think it's time to move him back into a bigger tank. The "temporary" ten gallon seems to fit him like a girdle now. ^_^

Just a couple more before & afters:

I'm just so proud of the little guy. ^_^

What make you think that Edddie is not an Edith? Did you have it sexed? From the angle of the pix the tail looks female.

You know - Rana draytonii use to be Rana aurora draytonii because they look extremely similar to Rana aurora (what use to be Rana aurora aurora) it turns out that Rana aurora is closer to Rana cascadae than it is to Rana draytonii.

I've thought of that. I haven't had him sexed yet... No real reason to, other than curiosity, since I'm not planning on breeding any snakes yet. I figured it's either Edward or Edwina.. "Eddie" works for either.

Yes, from what I can see of the short, abruptly tapering tail,..it looks VERY likely to be an "Edwina" to me too. Regardless of the sex though, it looks very nice and healthy, so good job on raising it up!
