Thanks for posting... I was actually torn between the one I got and a real dark female like the one you have... Such a variable look and I thuink they're all awesome. Liked the older animals too... can't wait until my girl gets to that size.

Is this the substrate you use just for the photo shoot, or do they live on gravel?

Yvon - That was strictly for the pics... just trying to find a background that helps to bring out the true colors (it did not work real well for that).

For substrate - I keep them on paper. I use paper towels for the tubs w/ the smaller animals and contractor paper (buy it in rolls at Lowes - similar in texture and weight to a brown paper grocery bag).
