Lots of recent MT. field pics

daneby Aug 26, 2008 11:38 PM

Lifted a rock & found all these little wanderings. I couldnt put the rock back down with all of them under it, so I picked them all up & set them to the side for the pic. Some scattered before my camera was ready.

Fishing

New born babies

Looks kinda like a foot print on the middle rock

A school of baby bull head catfish

The next 2 pics were taken today, & while not the best quality pics, it was the coolest thing I have seen all season. I've never seen an adult, a yearling, & a newborn prarie rattlesnake all in the same spot at once before today.

Thanks,

Dan Eby

Prairies are too damn cool. Only one of the snakes I found last night was a prairie, but 1 is better than none. The 4 mojaves and 1 atrox made up for that in the hots department last night, haha. Great pics, man. That last gopher snake is really nice, too.

Great pics Dan, what kind was the little banded hatchling you had in your hand? Do you think those little rattlers just hatched and were with mom?

Thanks Jeff.

Those baby rattlesnakes are definetly new borns. The little banded looking one is a hatchling eastern racer.

Dane,

Well, once more I'm jealous of a place I had never really considered a herp heaven! Nice pics, though Photoshop cheated me of viewing several.
