Im on day 54. Tomorrow will be 55. I know there is alot of discussions on here about cutting. But what exactly hurts the babies when you cut the egg too early? Just something I've always wondered!

I cut religously at day 54. I've talked to people who cut At day 50. Disturb them as little as possible. And cut. If you're careful, they will be fine as long as you're temps were good throughout incubation. There can be complications when you don't cut, babies getting tangled in their cords and so forth. Better safe than sorry, I'd rather know everythings alright than wait and take my chances.

egg yolk is food. an egg shell is not.
all it takes is one fly. one little fruit fly. and you could get maggots in amongst your cute little newborn.
cut at day 54 and you give that fly 6 days to do its thing.
my two cents.
Good point. If you've got fruit flies, cut at your own risk. If your fruitflyfree so to speak, cut away LOL
