Found one of my BRB's (still a boa so not "really" off topic )in the middle of giving birth to her litter....

Also found this one in the nest box:

You are lucky to be able to watch it live, I have yet to catch my boas in the act. I either wake up or come home from work and the litters are already there.

rainbowsrus Aug 27, 2008 06:13 PM

Exactly, I typically find the same thing or that they are in the moss box being secretive about the whole thing. She was the first time I've ever found a female actually giving birth right then, out in the open like that. Was sooo cool to watch her and how she would nudge them around as they came out. Stimulating them into breathing. Anyone who says there are no maternal instincts is totally wrong!!!

I got one question for you... did you go get the whole family to come watch? I know when I get a new litter I wake up everyone in the house.

rainbowsrus Aug 28, 2008 11:07 AM

nah, they're not as interssted as I am and was middle of the night.

That's actually fairly normal for a just wrung out female, she already looks loads better since all her internal organs have rearranged.

From 08/14, almost two weeks ago....
