Rainer - Daytona

Br8knitOFF Aug 27, 2008 02:03 PM

Who cares about who picked what up in Daytona- I want to see/hear about more homeless people picking up your mean snakes on the beach without asking, man!

Got any good stories/pics to share from 2008?

Thanks,
//Todd

In the mean time..

Here is a large treefrog I saw right outside of the Hilton {which is the host hotel)this was on sat night with thouands of herpers inside the hotel. The Hilton also sits directly across from the Expo center.

See the Hilton sign in the backround:

You know - Rana draytonii use to be Rana aurora draytonii because they look extremely similar to Rana aurora (what use to be Rana aurora aurora) it turns out that Rana aurora is closer to Rana cascadae than it is to Rana draytonii.

The drive down on thursday was not bad at all.

It all started out okay:

and then as I neared Daytona it got a little drizzly but nothing like driving through a hurrcane like everyone expected:

Loading up and moving in on thursday was also nice. Usually we have to wait until friday morning to load up. I really liked being able to drop off everything right when you get there.

I made a few trips back and forth with one of these trollies they supplied. But you had to leave your drivers license with them to use it.

Finally the reward. A cold one with my friend Tom Stevens on thursday night. After all the preperations and travleing it was worth it.

But Tom gets carried away with his formidable rocker past. here it shows through. Scary huh!

and then there is Jason Nelson (ENVY REPTILES). who is so humble he always thinks someone is taking a picture of someone else besides him. So he moves away from the camera and i yell at him that he was supposed to be in the shot:

Ahhh yesss, And then there is Thomas Davis. What can i say about Thomas that can't already be said from this pic:

Hey Rainer
Thanks for the pics...There's nothing like been in a room full of people who share's your same interest...the place can turn into a zoo real fast ....and from that last pic it looks like it just started ...lol

Nope- doesn't count unless said frog is latched on to some homeless guys nipple... bonus points for blood.

Anxiously awaiting...

Haha, Todd! Most of what happens in Daytona stays in Daytona! We should be so lucky if Rainer got more bum nipple/snake action!

I really want to go to this next year. We have family in Jacksonville and Orlando, so a combination trip is doable.
