Impaction?

bakeaway Aug 27, 2008 04:40 PM

My wht sided bull has reguritated his last 3 meals. I have never had this happen with any of my snakes. Someone said it could be impaction. How would I tell?
He seems to regurge it about 1 1/2 days after eating.
Thanks

If your snake is impacted, you might feel a small lump somewhere along the gut when palpating. As well, it may be sort of swollen just before the vent from not passing stool if that's where the blockage is.

The first clue would be where you feed the animal, and if it could have ingested something like bedding or substrate.
If it's not possible, something else is going on - possibly something more serious.

hope that helps.

When was the last bowel movement? You could try a lukewarm bath and see if your bull passes anything. It takes an xray or a deft hand to find an impaction or blockage.A trip to the vet wouldnt hurt.No matter what the problem is with your bull stop feeding for a couple weeks and keep it hydrated.Double check your temps.
