New pair of Bairdi Ratsnakes

Steve_Craig Aug 27, 2008 07:55 PM

Here's an 08 pair of Bairdi Ratsnakes I received today from Jimmy (Draybar) These came from Jimmy's adult breeders Sam & Rosie. I've been wanting some of these for a while. First pic is the female, second is the male. Thanks Jimmy.

Congradulations Steve. I also got a pair of bairdi from Jimmy. Mine look very similar to yours. They have been eating machines and are growing fast. I live in SW Louisiana and I feed them anoles along w/ FT fuzzies. They really seem to enjoy chasing and eating the lizards. Does anyone else ever feed hatchling rat's lizards? I don't think it hurts them.

Keep some updated pics of your pair. It will be interesting down the road to see how all the siblings look compared to each other. Good luck with your pair. Steve

Thanks Todd. Hands down these are some of my favorite ratsnakes. How are those Greenville Eastern Kings doing for you? You'll have to post some updated pics over on the kingsnake forum when you get a chance. Steve

I like those. I picked up a yearling pair of Baird's this year. They are very cool snakes, every time I look at them I see more color developing. You are sure to enjoy them!

Wow those are REALLY REALLY nice!! I'm a big bairds fan. Any locality info on those. They look to come form the western portion of the range.

Here is my Backer's Crossing female at 18 months of age

Thanks Tony. I don't think these are locality animals. Jimmy may chime in if he knows. That Backer's Crossing female is looking very nice. You coming to the upcoming Richmond show? Steve

Wow, that snake looks almost patternless??? Got any more pics? Anyone else have a patternless (no stripes, blotches) Baird's?

As a new bairdi ownwer, I must say ask, ain't they great? Best personality in a ratsnake I've yet found. Including Corns..

Bairdi is just a superior pet snake, calmness of a corn with the curiosity of a puppy! Sums my young 'un up.
