Daytona 08 pick ups

drimes Aug 27, 2008 07:56 PM

With all the excitement of this year's Daytona Breeder's Expo over, I want to share a few exceptional animals Kathy and I were fortunate enough to acquire at the show.

First are the Mandarin boas, a little project we have been working on for a couple years. They were produced by Hans Winner this past season in Germany and are 2 of 4 he sold in the US this year. There may be an added bonus with these colorful gems as well. There is possibly a Super form of the Mandarin boa. Only time and further breeding trials will tell for sure, but several of the babies from this litter have very aberrent patterns and head markings similar to a Super Jungle. We really have our fingers crossed on this one!!

This guy is an 07 Central T pos. we picked up from Pete Kahl.

This last boa we got from Jeremy Stone. He has a TON of genetic potential that will hopefully some day prove out for us. He is an 08 CA hypo 66% het
T pos and is also a sibling from a Motley litter. Jeremy did not think he is a Motley but he sure has a really neat pattern....and a purple tongue too!

Kathy could not resist this little bugger....a Redfoot tortoise she named "Spunky"

With a couple others we have coming from Bigg Mike, I'd have to say that we are having a pretty good year!!!

Wow, the Mandarin is outstanding and the T positive isn't to shabby either. It looks like you guys made out nicely this year on new additions. I would have loved to have seen those little buggers in person.

I hate I missed you guys at the big party this year. I'm still bummed that grad school got in the way of my favorite weekend of the year.

Kathy and I may be coming up for a visit soon if things fall into place.

Congrats on getting into grad school....it is where you need to be right now so keep up the good work!!

We'll be posting LOTS more photos of the Mandarins this year, we should have at least 1 male ready to breed for us this upcoming season!!

I asked Hans if he had proved a super of the Mandarin Bellies and he said he had and that it was very similar to the jungle project.

Which is why we are so hopeful for the project!!
