Availablity of wild caught Leopards..........

EricIvins Sep 04, 2003 11:40 PM

This might be a stupid question to some ( I've been out of the Leo loop for a couple years ), but are there any wild caught Leo's being brought into the country? I'd like to get my hands on a couple to do some outcrossing projects but havn't found any leads to even clue me in on their availability. Does anyone know?

they are still being exported/imported, but will be pretty hard to find. it would be easier to just cross them with geckos you know are unrelated, or cross them with a CB subspecies of leos, they arent to hard to find.

Sure you can get some but it's really not neccessary. Just outcross them with geckos from a different bloodline. If you talking about line breed traits this could save you money too because you wouldn't have to start completely over. I also imagine there is a pretty hefty minimum order/customs fee/shipping. Customs is usually $90 or so. Just getting animals shipped from canada there is usually around a $750 minimum order, and from other countries it is very likely well over $1000. This is probably not practical unless you know enough other breeders to split the cost with you.
