Pics from today

I would have a lot more rattlesnake & racer pics, but my camera battery died a couple hours before I headed home. Enjoy!

Look close to see the young eagle sitting on the rock

Look back in the bush, there is a third one

Babies are everywhare right now

I think the 3 babies sitting with her are the only 3 she had, she is the smallest momma prarie rattlesnake I've ever seen, only 2 1/2 feet long or smaller.

Thanks,

Dan Eby

Prairies are the only rattler up in Montana, right? Reminds me of the part of California I'm from; we only have the Northern Pacific. Not as diverse group as Southern California, or here in West Texas, but hey, they're still quite enjoyable snakes. And once again, those habitat shots are incredible. Really jealous of that scenery, haha!

Dan,

Well, those are the first C. viridis I've seen that are actually GREEN. LOL
Do you know the location of every den in your county?? <G>
BTW, what kind of rocks are those, strange erosion features!
