lighting

i have 2 ornte boxies. i went 2 pet store to look for a lighting thingy for their enclosure and saw one for desert reptiles and one was a regular 1. which 1 should i get?

It is probably a good idea to stick with the lower output UV bulb, like the 5.0 (5% UVB). The desert is probably the 10.0 (10% UVB). The jury is still out as to whether the higher output bulbs can cause vision problems.

Also, it is a good idea to provide an ornate with a warm basking spot. Easterns don't usually require this, but an ornate needs a place to really heat up and dry out. The tubes won't provide enought heat, so you can supplement with a plain old incandescent.

mahalo plenty. i got a spot lamp 4 heating in their enclosure. its just that they only catch some sunlight in the morning 4 about an hour because the roof over their pen.(it rains alot here on the east side of the isle of hawaii, it turns the substrate into mud) and im not sure if thats enough sun for them. thanks ahain for the help
