anery stripe or ghost stripe

wisema2297 Aug 29, 2008 10:05 AM

How to tell the difference? I know that the striping gene can really dull out black pigment and give it a hypoish look with anery's, especially in males. This hatchling is a female and had dark black striping up until 2 sheds ago. She has gotten a little lighter with each shed. I did not get any other hypo's from her clutch but it was a small clutch (amel stripes as well but no snow stripes). She is also going to be used in my striped granite/hypo striped granite (anery blood/ghost blood) project.

I'm going to agree that that looks like an anery. The black will fade a bit as they age. The ghosts I've seen were a bit lighter in color and have an almost pastel look to them.

That's a very pretty snake BTW!!
