best websites for kingsnake info?

beastie Aug 29, 2008 03:39 PM

Hey everyone! I have a question...

what is the best website/websites for detailed kingsnake info, from general care to housing, sexing, etc?

I've been looking through the forums, but it seems to be mostly morph talk, not too much basic info...

Thanks for any replies!

"what is the best website/websites for detailed kingsnake info, from general care to housing, sexing,"

This is THEE forum for that info. You can't do better.

I suggest :

a) ask a question
b) look up keywords in the archive.

If you spend some time here you will find out there are more topics on care, feeding and breeding than morph discussion.

You know - Rana draytonii use to be Rana aurora draytonii because they look extremely similar to Rana aurora (what use to be Rana aurora aurora) it turns out that Rana aurora is closer to Rana cascadae than it is to Rana draytonii.

As a novice I can't tell you how valuable the guys here are. No one is every slapped down for a stupid or newbie question and someone is always willing to help.

So far I've had a great experience with my new brooksi and that's due to all the great info/advice i've recieved here.

Nokturnel Tom maintains a good website that has a bunch of articles on kingsnake care. It really helped me get started with my kings.

If you want detailed information, you're better off with a book. If you want answers to a specific question, this site is a good resource. It's helpful to acquire some "base knowledge" from a book, rather than post questions like "what does a kingsnake eat?" "how should I breed them?" "what's the best cage size?", etc.
