Annulata

Dniles Aug 29, 2008 08:22 PM

Here are a couple of nice pinner annulatas that have joined my collection. I've been wanting to work with annulata for a while. If all goes well, I plan to add a few more annulata this fall also.

Dave,..ya know something,...I used to see annulata at shows ALL the time many years ago, but I see very very few these past recent years for some reason. Anyway, I was busy working with other stuff then, and didn't bother with the annulata for some reason, maybe because they were so darn common back then. But recently I have had a strong interest in getting some of them, especially after I ran across some that looked similar to yours that you posted on a website somewhere a while back. Man!,...I'm telling you, those are some of the SWEEEETEST apricot pinner's I have EVER seen dude!...REALLY! Both of those are just unbelievably gorgeous. Now I am quite sure that I MUST have some of those!..wow!

Thanks Doug. You're right, you don't see them as much as you used to, but they are pretty cool I think. Were there none at Daytona?

These probably won't go until 2010. If you think these are cool, wait to you see what I'm getting in a few weeks if all goes according to plan...I'll be sure to post them.

Dave,..

There COULD have been just a few there, but I doubt it, and I certainly don't remember seeing any. And if there was any there at all, they CERTAINLY wouldn't have looked as nice as those!!...those are just killer in my opinion!

Those look great. I have tried to get my hands on a pair the last two seasons but the one breeder I know that produces them sold out as fast as they hatched. Best of luck with them.

They were the first exotic I ever kept. Great snakes IMHO.

I'm in the same boat as you - I've always like Annulata, but never got around to buying them (mostly because I couldn't find a pair that I liked).
Those are some of the best looking examples I've ever seen. I look forward to seeing how the breeding projects go with those.

Thanks Tim. If all goes well, I should be able to reduce they pinstrpe a litte more with a little time and effort. We'll see.

Wow, Dave those are smoking!
If Doug is right, where did they all go? We just don't see Annulata posted much now. But we need to.
Look forward to see some neonates from that pair you have.

Thanks for posting them.

Thanks Dell. That's a good question. Not sure where they went to. I guess its like everything else going in cycles of popularity.

I have added a few to my collection as well. That one looks like a Pete Strelkow animal. Very nice man.

Thought I should post this photo of one of my male breeder Apricot Pinstripe Annulata... We finally have raised up some females and hopefully will have 3 clutches to sell next year... Also, we have spotted pattern and vanishing pattern in the works... By far our favorite type of snake to raise... the best for children... Pete Strelkow

Very nice Pete. That guy is a moose alright. Good luck next year with him.
