I agree with Lance. This does not only happen in the Mexicana complex. I have seen many posts of deformed Getula (Dead in egg) hatchlings that had abnormal patterns and the such that would blow your mind.
I think the deformities attributed to the 'deformed' pattern as well.
It sure would have been cool if that one was perfect....and I do feel for you.......But you gotta take the good with the bad in this hobby.
