Pic of 2008 coxi with skin irritation

mattkau Aug 30, 2008 01:29 PM

Here's a pic of my 08 coxi female that got to moist and developed an irritation. It's kind of hard to see in the photo and its gotten slitly better since then. I treated it with hydrogen peroxide and neosporin. I alsa corrected the husbandry problem. Any other suggestions would be appriciated.

The reduced pattern behind her neck is her normal pattern. The area I'm talking about is on the side of her body, about an inch behind her head. I think she'll be alright, but this is not something I wanted to happen, of course.

i would just keep a close eye on it. sometimes the sheds on coxi can be so thin that you can't see when an area is stuck. perhaps that area had a little stuck shed on it and that caused the area that you see now. i wouldn't go overboard treating it. coxi are strong snakes and it should heal with the next shed.

It certainly looks like a fungus infection. I once treated a Lavender Black Ratsnake with Canesten (usually applied to human feet). Worked perfectly.
