Here's a super nice box turtle I just got from the Raleigh reptile show. It's a super hyper-erythristic specimen from pure Green Level Church stock, black plastron phase. I got him for a steal at $1150.

Okay, just kidding, I actually found him wandering on Green Level Church Road a few hours ago. He is one of the prettiest box turtles I've ever seen, his head and neck are really colorful! I'll keep him for a few days and then let him go in the woods, probably where I released the copperhead a couple weeks ago.

Thanks,
Ed

Wow, that high-end baby was quite a steal (okay, literally). He's quite a beauty! We don't see turtles like that in Minnesota----mostly just painted turtles basking in our 15,000 lakes.

LOL! He's cute. With the rain we just had in Raleigh tonight, you should see a few more.

I took a stroll around the show today. A couple of NFS IJ Jags and a few pairs of Barons racers were nice to look at. Otherwise, corns/rats/milks/bci/petrocks, lizards and the obligatory guy with a big snake who's let you take a pic with it for money.

I'm showing in ring 8 at around 11:15 if you're around the show tomorrow. There's people taking admission at the dog show, but just look hurried and walk by them like you've been there all morning and are late for a ring, they'll leave you alone.

Julie,

Didn't make it to the show, sorry we missed you. Thanks for the report, it's about what I expected. As much as I like herps, I can't really justify going twice a year to see pretty much the same stuff (1000 pet rocks, corns, etc.) and not being able to buy anything I like anyway.

How did the dog show go? Get any pics?

Thanks,
Ed

Sounds like you had a fun weekend. The dog show went well, we won all the points available and got caught up on the dog world gossip. No pix, I dont tend to travel with a camera, its too likely to get stolen when I'm away from my setup.

Nice find, thought u meant a pickup truck.

He is a nice one. NJ has some beautiful eastern box turtles. I have seen so much variation in colors it is unreal.
