These are pictures of a few finds from Tuesday night. Quite a few snakes and toads out that night. Didn't get pics of everything, but the ones below are quite enough I think, haha.
First find was this Crotalus viridis viridis, the good ol' prairie rattler.

Next was this baby Mojave.

A painted desert glossy snake. Rather dull one, possibly going into a shed.

A nice sized Sonoran gopher snake.

Checking out a couple of keepers
Stopped at a rest area on the way back to check out a couple of snakes I held on to, the first of which was this western hook-nose snake, my favorite find of the night.

Also held on to this plains black-headed snake. I had initially thought it was a Smith's black-headed, but after getting the chance to more closely examine it, I think it's a plains, as the black head cap extends 3 scales past the parietals, rather than the 2 I thought it did when I captured it. Nonetheless, it's a great little snake.

And while at the rest area, this fiesty little guy, another Mojave (1 of 4 that night) was hanging out along the grass.

A nice little green toad. Quite a few of these guys were out. Understandably so, as there was on and off rain throughout the night.

I'm guessing this is a Texas toad, but I'm not sure. Amphibians aren't my specialty, and some of the Bufo species around here look rather similar. Anyone know if it is a Texas toad? Help is appreciated on this one.
