Molly dropped........

rainbowsrus Aug 31, 2008 05:44 PM

A very nice litter of babies today. Last night she was out of her moss tub for the first time in weeks. She wet the paper towel substrate pretty good. First thing this morning I checked and she was back in the tub but looking normal. Then around lunch I went in to check again and change out the messed up paper and first thing I saw was her body lifted off the bottom in one corner of the moss hide. Hmmmm....

Here's what I found on closer inspection....

Lifted the lid and first peek/glimpse of babies:

Pulled back the moss and she gave me a half hearted strike:

Pulled her from the tub and got her back in her cage. Clearly they are just born, none has actually left the sack although one is close:

Was headed out so just transfered the babies, sack and all, to a holding tub:

Final stats...

21 healthy full term babies
0 slugs
0 preemies

Born on 08/31 which happens tpo be the modified expected date!!! Cool, this is the second litter to come on the due date. Savannah last year and Molly this year. Bullseye is also due today and looking ready to pop! BUT, is in a different style of cage so may make a difference.

4 - 30 Grams
13 - 31 Grams
4 - 32 Grams

born at POS + 113 days.

Jeff, I see you've been paying attention. Yes, 6 good littes and one slugout for a total of 115 healthy babies. Averaging just over 19 babies / litter.
