Wayne..... (dekaybrown)

I was SOOO thinking of Limon today.. We went to our local "Pet Supermarket" to just meander and look at some of their recently acquired herps. Sure enough, in one of their tanks, they had two baby "Limons". They were so beautiful! One was shedding, and they both appeared a bit nervous.. The sign on that particular tank also indicated that there was a rather large treefrog in it too. Clarence had to steer me away quickly, because I SOOO wanted to buy them both and bring them home so I would know they got a good home. He reminded me that I don't really want to buy another snake until we move out of my parents' extra house. A shame though, they also had a couple of gorgeous MBKs and an albino "chain king". I think I would have tripled my collection if I'd had my way. ^_^

Holly, are you sure they were not "Smooth Green" snakes?

Smooth greens look exactly like Limon, but only get around 12 inches long & eat insects.

Unless someone has succeeded in captive breeding, I have never heard of any baby Cyclophiops offered for sale.

Wayne

That's what I was thinking too,...or maybe even a Rough Green Snake(aestivus), they are fairly common to see in pet shops as well.

That's possible. They only had them labeled as "green snakes". I wish I'd had my digital with me, I'd snap some pictures. They just looked VERY close to what I remember Limon looking like.

Holly, Smooth green and rough green snakes look exactly like Limon, but they stay quite small, about the size of a Dekayi snake or red belly.

I was looking to order one of those when I found Limon! I typed in "Green Snake" on the classifieds.

Thankfully not many Cyclophiops get imported, especially since most of them die shortly after getting here.

If you log onto my web site, click the green snake rescue button, that story will get to you.
