Identifying boa locality

Eryk1982 Sep 02, 2008 03:08 PM

how can you tell the difference in origin with boa constrictors?
I see adds for surinams, peruvian, hogg island and other localties and I was wondering how can you tell the difference. I have a male boa constrictor and I am interested in trying to get a female, does it matter where they are from? I dont know the locality of the one I have. thanks,

Eryk

Research is the name of the game. There are different looks(Phenotypes)scales counts ,sizes and Geographic Location that determine a Boas Locale. Read up on Boa constrictors as much as possible, try to learn everything you can learn. One page link that is helpful is "The Boa List" I'll leave a Link at bottom of post . This describes many different Morphs(genetic Mutations) as well as Locale specific Boas.
