Surrender Dorothy!
That is what I kind of thought it was but didn't think they lived that for north, (Savannah), and thought maybe it could be a pit. Colors were wrong but got talked into it. LOL!!!

Correction!!!
thanks for sharing those. We have tons of big Texas Rats in my neighborhood, and tons of squirrels, but I have yet to see that happen for myself. Well worth a look so thanks again!

I opened my mouth and out flowed a melody black.
Pretty cool, I've been wanting to tell this story on here for a while, so now is my chance. 1997 I was tearing down an old log cabin on the outskirts of some very wealthy subdivisions. That summer I caught 18 adult Black Rat snakes in the walls and all through the place. One day as I was taking one of my frequent breaks, I heard a sound like a scream or loud squeal coming from the weeds at the edge of a fence row. I ran over as fast as I could and found the source of the commotion. It was a 5.5 ft Black Rat wrapped up all over a full grown gray squirell. The snake had the squirell by the head and the squirell had it's mouth on the snake. I should have let nature take it's course but I didn't, I grabbed the snake by the tail and started unwrapping and as I got it almost freed, I was pulling the snake toward me and just as it was coming free of the squirell, the sqirell caught it's breath and ran all over me trying to get at the snake. It was hillarious looking back on it. That snake was missing at least three inches of it's tail from a previous injury. Maybe a squirell bit it's tail off years back and it didn't care if it could actually eat the squirell, just taking revenge on all it's kin. After seeing these photos, now I have no doubt that it could have handled that squirell.
