Hi i use baby chicken pellets as substrate for my beardies. The pellets are so tiny even the new born babies can eat them and they are also rich in calcium. And the price is very low, even lower than my cat´s toilet sand.

I noticed that some of my new bd babies are growing MUCH faster than the rest. I wonder why because I offer them the same food, the same amount of UVB etc... The difference is SO big that if i put all of them together the bigger ones look like the parents of the smaller ones. I realized that the bigger ones are from the first clutch and the smaller ones from the last clutch. Although there is a 21 day interval between each clutch this alone cannot explain the huge size difference.I wonder if the size difference is due because the first clutch eggs had more calcium because the mother was lesss drained.

Any opinion?
