Children's Python Eggs

bast Sep 04, 2008 02:21 PM

Hell All,

I have a young pair of Children's Pythons. I have had them for several years now and this year I got 5 eggs from the femail. She started incubating them as a good pthon would. I chose to take them from her and put them into my incubator. I incubated the eggs at 80 degrees F and about 60% humidity on damp vermiculite. I candled them before I put them into the incubator and all but one shower blood vessels. The one unfertile egg molded. I carefully removed it from the bunch without damaging the other eggs.

I let he eggs sit undisturded for two weeks. When I finnaly checked them all had collapsed and most had turned brown. Then smell was rotten.

Can anyone with a little Children's python experience give me a few pointers for next season?

Thank you for your time,

Brian

Brian,
Two things you might do next year are adjust incubation temp to 87 - 88 F and maintain humidity between 80 and 90%. I bred these numerous times in the 1980's and never had any problems under these conditions.
