Kathy, just posting a few pics

herpsltd Sep 05, 2008 03:47 PM

of Patty's Corns. Let me know what you think. I'm posting an albino Bloodred, a pair of Okeetee's, and one she bought in Daytona that was called a Crimson Corn. Brad Chambers produced it and I think it's one of the cleanest nicest Corns I've seen. It reminds me of a Miami Corn a bit but MUCH NICER than any Miami I've seen. All the best....TC

Nice stuff there, Tom!

I remember you showing me that Crimson Corn at the show,..and I can definitely say that the pic does it NO justice whatsoever!,....it was indeed a VERY nice and clean animal, with an extremely light colored "Miami" backround. Just a very nice example in my opinion.

best regards, ~Doug

I will probably be having company down then, so I don't think I can make it, although I certainly would love to. But if plans change, I'll let you know.

near the color of the red saddle. Which leads a thought of a line bred snake with the same BG color and saddle, and with monster black rings.

The bottom is is killer. I always liked crimson.I took in a snake years back thinking it was a bloodred. Many people trying to ID it, finally Don S ID'd it as a crimson. But the background was near red. But I will not dispute Don on a corn lol.

Saddly she passed. She never was quite right. Took me 6 months to get weight on her.

I see I'm going to have to try to get my arse to Florida.

Anyone have a worm tunnel I can borrow?

The blood is especially nice because many tend to show more white in the pattern than that one does. Very smooth colors!

Of course, beautiful okeetees are always nice! The first one is especially "clean".

The crimson is a beauty. But they do tend to get orange / tan bleeding into the white as they mature. Sure hope he looks anything like that this time next year! You should try to photo him every couple of months for the next year or more, so you have a nice progression series to remember him by when he is an adult. Baby photos will be useful when you are looking at his future offspring - to compare them to him. Hope you can find some suitable mates!

TC,
Those are gorgeous corns for sure! I love Okeetees and Patty's two are stunning.

I couldn't help think my clutch of hypo corns look a lot like your Crimson corn. I realize Crimson's are the hypo Miami's but my Hypos were the result of a "wild type", high orange female, het Hypo bred with a Silver Queen Ghost corn. I attached a pic. I've bred other Hypos in the past that were Hypo but looked different. These Hypos are quite clean looking and I'm wondering if the Silver Queen male (who is quite light himself) created this effect on the offspring?

Yes, as Tom already mentioned, those are excellent looking hypos that definitely resemble what are known as "Crimson" corns. But keep in mind, hatchling corns can and WILL change a great deal, especially with reds and yellows, so it's hard to say what they will look like when mature. The end result is what really counts.

From the looks of those, it's hard to think they would be anything other than stunning though, no matter what sort of ontogenic change occurs!..LOL!

Thanks for the feedback Doug, I appreciate it. The "problem" with producing cool babies is the fact you want to keep them all...lol. I guess that's how we end up with so many snakes

A little off topic link below. When you mentioned ontogenetic it naturally made me think of my black milks. I took a photo essay of their color change over a few years. Enjoy!

Yes!,......I am very familiar with the triangulum complex, and those Black Milks you have are really sweet!
