first Clutch hatching of the season

rkreptiles Sep 05, 2008 04:52 PM

did not turn out as well as we had hoped for but are still lucky with waht we got. The clutch is from a Mojave male to a Pastel 50% pos het ghost female. She laid 6 eggs that all had good veining and were doing great up until about 2 weeks ago. 3 of the eggs died about that time and when cut open after the others hatched had partially formed babies in them. Who knows why they died. Then the 3 remaining eggs had all pipped so we cut a little larger window in them and all three poked their little heads out. 1 eggs was a pastel (very very tiny one) that poked its head out for about 2 days and then mysteriously died int he egg. The remaining 2 eggs fully hatched and emerged from the eggs yesterday. 1 was a male Mojave and 1 is a male pastel mojave. This is one of the best looking pastel mojave's I have seen to date. attached are a couple of pics taken this morning after they were a little more cleaned up. Look at the neck of the pastel mojave! WOW! Let me know what everyone thinks of them.

Thanks. He is truly awesome. Now to decide if I am going to keep him to replace my Mojave male or what.

Breed him and make more like him, but keep him for your own collection. He is spectacular.

I love the reduced pattern it has. One of the best I've seen.
