Finally shedding!!!

booky Sep 05, 2008 09:05 PM

Hey there,

So, the little bastard finally broke through his old skin, at long last.
However, all that he's shed so far is his head, and the rest of him is entirely intact. His head pieces seem to have caused him some trouble (in that there are little dead skin pieces all over his cage ) and i'm wondering if i should step in with the ez shed, and help him out, or just let him work through it....?

I'm such a concerned parent, oi.

feedback, please?

I'd put him in a deli cup (with air holes) or something with a chunk of moist papertowel overnight.. Use slightly warm tap water on the towel so you don't stress him out and keep the little container in your cage so he stays warm and doesn't get a chill.. Should shed out fine that way, check on him in about 8-10 hrs and should be complety shed, if not it will "roll" right off at that point anyway... No need to buy that shedease stuff.. Soak him in a warm bath.

it got a little messy, but the easeshed helped him out, and he looks fantastic.

he started scraping off his belly skin in ridiculous chunks before i intervened.
