I have a pair of long term WC spec. kings from SW La., where I live. I am going to try and breed them this year, just for the fun of it. I've never breed any kingsnakes, or any from my area. Do they have to be fully brumated or just cooled down with a natural photo period? Thanks.

Speckled kings from your area require little if any cooling. I am in SE Texas and have never doon anything to cool mine down beyond just not heating my snake room very much during winter. As you know, it just doesn't get that cool down here anyway for very long. Where is SW La are you? How did Gustav treat you?

I'm in Moss Bluff(Lake Charles area). What part of Texas? I'm alway's looking for someone to go snake hunting with.

I'm from Sulphur. I live in Austin now but I go back home every couple of months. We should get together and do some herping some time. I know a couple of neat spots between Sulphur and MB. I've also got a WC speckled from Sulphur that I'm raising. I had another from Cameron Parish but it came with a skin infection and didn't survive.
