There is no such thing as a het for pastel. The pastel gene is co-dom. This means that a pastel itself is a visual het for the super pastel. It is a pastel or a normal. No inbetween.

since he is speaking of hybrids between other pythons maybe he is talking about mixing a pastel x ____ or refering 50% to the pairs offspring...I could be wrong. I know there is no het pastel and the y pastel is a het.

I personally like the Carpalls. I am going to try breeding in a ball morph of some sort, Albino or pastel to liven up the colors more. We ll see.

No such thing as a 50% het pastel. If someone sold you a snake labeled as that you got ripped off.

wow now i feel like a idiot

Don't feel like too much of an idiot - if you stick around the reptile industry for long enough you are bound to get scammed to some degree sooner or later.

I don't know anyone that has done this for 10 years that hasn't been scammed at one point. The nice thing is that is a little harder to rip off people now than it was back then.

A little hint for you the next time you are looking through the classifieds: NEVER reply to an add that doesn't have pictures. If the person can post pics - just walk away. I have a very hard time believing that someone can't upload a picture but can attach them to an email. Posting a picture or two in your ad (and not these 1 inch by 2 inch pics that some people post... it has to be something people can see) makes me feel much more comfortable about the deal - simply because the pictures are viewed by the public and if they are stolen from someone's website the ad won't last long. Email is too private and let's the seller get by with far too much b.s.

On the OTHER hand.... post some pics of your snakes. You may have a Pastel after all and it may turn out that you just need a better understanding of the basic terminology us ball people use.
