Best choice of worms

ecrowell Sep 06, 2008 04:50 PM

My beardie is 3 months old. He is eating really well, but is starting to turn his nose up at the phoenix worms he used to love. My question is what worms would you suggest? Also links would be a great help. Thanks

Whats his length/weight?

He is 62 grams, and 11 inches from head to tail. About 5 inches without the tail.

small superworms, silkworms, butterworms, small hornworms..all good to feed as staples.

there are quite a few sites to purchases these online...best thing to do is check the businesses tab above. Some may be much closer to you than others so hard to recommend the beset place for you to order from.

Personally at that size, the best food is gutloaded crickets. At 3 months mine are much larger and heavier because of a primarily cricket diet along with salad. Once they get over 300 grams you can feed them any worm you'd feed an adult. Sorry, I know crickets are a hastle but they are the best food for growing dragons.

I have heard alot about roaches for beardies. Are they better nutritionaly for them than crickets? I hesitate to feed them because of their exoskeleton might be too harsh for a 3 month beardie to digest. Am I correct, or is it safe? Thanks.
