So, this was my first herp show ever, had no idea what to expect. It was pretty good, a little bit smaller than I would have guessed, but also more crowded, and overall, a lot of fun. Here's some of what we saw:

let's start it off right. There were at least 4 tables I saw with BRBs, but none in huge quantities.

there were a lot of Boa morphs, I would say they probably surpassed BPs for sheer numbers.

there were also more lizards than I would have guessed. this is 3 large folding tables, covered completely with deli cups with crested geckos, two of the tables having them stacked 2 tall. I would have to guess they were pushing 1,000 of them.

lots of retics and burms. some of these morphs are just so awesome, it's a shame to me they get so big. strangely, didn't see any anacondas.

a very nice, stoic iguana

one of my personal favorite colubrids has always been these tangerines

i dont even remember what this is, but it looks great

there were also more turtles and tortoises than i would have guessed. i suppose i'm just a snake guy. notice the conjoined turtles here

and here is a two-headed turtle

this tokay had something to say

a long-necked turtle. very strange.

a beautiful GTP

i've never really liked spiders, but

a frilled dragon got a little stressed and displayed for us

hm... would you?

there were, of course, many ball pythons. As simple as it is, i think this (or maybe albino?) is my favorite morph

refreshments and a well-earned sit break!

this i thought was very cool, IRCF's blue iguana

we got in right at 10 at opening, but as the day went on, it seemed to get even busier. this is a photo i took as we were walking out the door

and here's the "we" i'm refering to. the one attempting to avoid the picture is Kelley, the one ignoring me is Kim. Neither of them are herpers yet, but I came close to getting Kelley to leave with a baby bearded she liked... next year, right?

and here is what is, for me, the star of the show, the one I brought home. She's "normal", but has a lot white sides and some great high yellows.

My first BP, and the my 4th snake... but there was 11 years between the first and second, a year between the second and third, and less than two months between the third and fourth... is that normal? It's a great (though pricey) trend!

Well, that's it. It was a lot of fun, and I'll definitely go to more shows in the future, and maybe meet some of you guys. Anyone looking forward to the super show in LA yet??

Chris,
..Great PICs and captions. It is nice to get reports on the shows we do not get to go see ourselves.
Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the pics and report. Funny, the conjoined turtles were at the San Jose show right next to me.

Maybe the same ones at the Daytona Show. They were mentioned in another post about Daytona here on kingsnake.

Thanks!! My camera battery died, so I didn't get any pics at the show, but that was the one BRB I got from Mike... Thanks Mike!! The lighting in that room didn't do him justice in the slightest! I was a bit hesitant to buy him (I mostly went on Mike's word that he was nice), but the first time I saw him in the sunlight, Wow, he was so orange! I talked to many breeders that were less than pleased with the lights in there. There were a lot of really interesting critters at the show. I was very surprised in the multitude of gorgeous old world rat snakes that were at the show! I've never seen a lot of them before. I actually picked up some Mandarin Rat Snakes there, which is the first time I've gotten a colubrid since my first BRB.

Like I said, my camera died on the way there, but my friend had a camera, so I'll post pics as soon as I can too!

Oh, and I have to add, it was so nice to meet Mike and Bryan at the show!!
