Hello everyone. I am a long time Pit enthusiast that has apparently been bitten by the corn bug. I have kept a few corns in the past but Pituophis take the large majority of my collection. I do a few kings here and there along with foxsnakes. Recently I have found myself looking at this forum and the corn classifieds. The progression of the cornsnake is just amazing! I hadn't seen a majority of the morphs that are now on the market and it took me a good deal of research and questions to get caught up on what is what. My hats off to you guys! Anyway, in the past 3 weeks I have purchased 7 corns! I tried to take pics of them last night. All somewhat cooperated except for my Hypo Lavendar Motley from Don S. I couldn't get that guy to sit still for anything! I'll try again today sometime. Anyway first up is one of my favorites. It is a female caramel motley het amel (butter) that I got from John Stolz in Derby, Ks. This is the one that got me looking. I loved the even motley pattern. The second is a male butter motley that I also got from John. I love em! Thanks John!

My best buddy Jud McClanahan and I were in Daytona a couple of weeks ago. As some of you may know, Jud is an Anaconda and Retic guy (see Reptiles magazine Anaconda article from a couple of years back). As I said I am a Pituophis person. While Jud and I were walking around, the one thing that kept catching our eye were some of the super nice Okeetee Corns on display. We both agreed that you would be hard pressed to find a better looking snake, especially for the price. We ended up buying a pair from Don Soderberg. I took the male home and Jud has the girl. Here is a pic of the boy. Can't wait to watch the progression.

This is a motley stripe het hypo lavendar that I picked up in Daytona. Unfortunately I lost the card of the gentleman that I purchased her from. She is a beauty. As I said earlier I bought a male hypo lavendar motley from Don to go with this girl, but I couldn't get him to settle down for a pic so I'll try to add him later.

And last but not least I just picked up a pair of blood reds from Jim at South Wisconsin Reptiles. This was one that I remember from years back that always made me keep an eye on the corns. I suppose my next corn purchase (hopefully not this year as I have bought way more snakes than I said I was going to this year!) would be the pewters. Anyway I can't wait to watch the progression on these also. Too much fun!

Welcome to the forum Jeremy,

That striped motley and carmel motley are killer! Yeah, you're right, there's some surprising new "looks" to corns that have certainly kept them moving along in some pretty cool colors and patterns.

Those black pines that I got from you are doing great!

Thanks Tim! I am very happy the lodingi are doing well for you. Yeah, I'm not saying the Pits are going anywhere, but I definately catch myself looking at the corn classifieds a lot more lately! The variety is just amazing! I believe I remember Kathy Love saying somewhere here on this forum in relating corn breeding to being an artist. The pallet of colors and patterns to play with makes for a genetic fanciers dream come true. Thanks again Tim and I'll try to get a pic of that Hypo Motley Lavendar sometime today. Take care.
