White belly nelsoni

stevep Sep 07, 2008 11:58 AM

Not sure how common this is but I had 1 good nelsoni egg hatch and it has an almost completely white belly. I have 5 nelsons milks and they all have the banding thru the belly. One has a small thin white strip down the belly but nothing like the hatchling.

Thought it was a little different.

Hey Steve,

That's pretty cool. A few of my breeders have white stripes going down their belly, but none have pure white bellies like that. I haven't seen that before. Congrats on the cool hatchling!

Hey Dave

Here's the adults. Both have "normal" bellys so I'm not sure where the white underside is coming from. When are the cosalas due??

Hey Steve,

We're at day 67 today...I check the incubator every few hours. LOL. So to answer your question...any minute now!

Nice nelsoni by the way.

I have never kept nelsoni, but in some pueblans, the belly coloration is similar to the rest of the body, but faded. I really like how the bands look sort of like saddles.
