New camera - much better macro!

EddieF Sep 07, 2008 05:37 PM

I got a new camera, mostly because I'm getting a puppy in a week, but I tried the macro out with the snakes today and I'm psyched!

The camera is the Nikon P80. I decided I didn't need an SLR.

The following photos have not been adjusted for contrast or color, I only cropped a couple. But I was really pleased with the colors right off the bat with these. With my old camera I'd go into Photoshop to try to adjust the shots till they matched my eye.

(Oops! Okay, I had to sneak that one in!)

So what kind of puppy are you getting?

Thanks!

She's a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla. A pretty rare breed (only about 400 in the US).

Cute dog!
I (my wife), has some of those too... ( 6 small dogs: Teacup poodles & yorkies)...
(Check out one of the killer, full grown poodles near bottom left corner of the picture (almost small enough to be snake food...HEHEHEHE!!!)
(The brooksi being held by my son, is just a regular, het-for-nothing, garbage gut)
You have some nice Brooksis, though...Thanks for sharing...

Thanks Doug! My goal is to some day take photos ALMOST as good as yours!

I am really happy with this camera so far, and I haven't even explored all the menus and options...

LOL!,...you're too kind, buddy!

Yes, that camera, like many others today are capable of doing things that are simply unbelievable when all the literature is read and experimented with regarding all the features. I keep finding cool features to play with that get different results than I figured too.
