Where are all the albino Hondurans?

markg Sep 05, 2003 11:39 AM

I just purchased a beauty of an amel Honduran milk 2003 from the classifieds (Gary Leisen, real nice fellow with BIG honduran babies). Anyway, upon scanning the classifieds over the last few months and attending one show in Calif, I notice that there are plenty of hypos available at any given time, but albinos seem uncommon anymore. Can some of you breeders of Honduran morphs shed some light on why "everyone" is selling hypo Hondurans (and some outstanding ones at that) but the albinos are few and far between? Am I misguided in this observation?

I know what you mean, I just bought a trio 1fem 2 male from a guy locally, he does not even advertise at all, I found out thru friend. I tell you what they are awsome they have wide red/orange bands and they are tangerine on the heads all 3 of them. I got them at a great deal. I live in Denver, Colorado.
I will post pictures at a later time.

Take care
Tom

It may be that most are using their adult albinos and breeding them to Hypo or good Tangerines in order to tap into the Albino Tangerine arena.

The snow project is also probably responsable for monopolizing AD albinos.

Good observation
