I recently posted about my results using the Doppler fetal heart monitor. Linda mentioned a water ballooon trick which got me thinking that using the Doppler with the snake submerged might work better. I had one female I was very sure was gravid but I had heard no fetal heart tones with the Doppler. I put her in a tub of water today and using the Doppler found many fetal heart tones. Water is an excellent transmitter of sound and so this works better. I am going to attempt to see how accurate a count of babies I can get using the Doppler with some other gravid BRBs.
