prasina insomnia

drunk_on_chivas Sep 05, 2003 11:46 AM

i keep my prasina in my bedroom and i'm sort of a night bird. I sleep quite late and always have the light on when i'm doing stuff in my room.It distracts my prasina and keeps it from sleeping. I keep my tank covered with a black cloth to block off the light but just partially. i just use a black t shirt actually hehehe.I'm wondering this will affect the health of my prasina.....anyone?

It really shouldn't matter as (to my experience) they are just as active at night (feeding...etc...). Usually you can count on a large eyed snake to be at least partially nocturnal. Of course...there is the option of say...Playing Brahm's lullaby......Frank

I'am sure sleep deprevation is bad for any animal, but Iam sure you are not keeping them awake all 24 hours. I have all the enclosures on a timer, switching the lights directly above/in the cages off. Once the light is off all the dayactives start to curl up and sleep. All my prasina really sleep the whole night. I have never encountered them awake during my irregular midnight pee..lol.
Maybe you are the one with the insomnia..lol
