When to open unhatched eggs

m77 Sep 08, 2008 11:07 AM

I've just hatched (some anyway) of my first clutch of GB's -- what a rush.
3 in 3 days, the rest have not even started to slit the egg yet

How long do you guys wait before cutting open ( a little slit to peak inside ) unhatched eggs from the time the last little one got itself out.

Thanks
M77

From what I have been told, I would slit the eggs no later than 72 hours after first pip. Some go ahead and slit all the eggs once the first one has pipped.

Last thing you want is for the snakes to die in egg.

Good Luck,

Steven Owens
