Blood is going nuts

dpjm Sep 08, 2008 05:10 PM

Hello. I have had my blood python (P. brongersmai) for three and a half years making it about 4 years old. It has always been the most mellow and lazy snake. I didn't even need a lid for its cage until about a week ago. Now it seems hell bent on escaping at almost every opportunity. It seems to have picked up either a burst of energy or an interest in exploring. The cage conditions haven't changed, the temps vary from about 78-90 degrees F. Humidity around 60%. Nice big water bowl. Also it has been uninterested in food lately, which is very unusual also. Anyone have any ideas what might be going on?

Is it a male? Sounds like a male looking for a mate...

I have no idea if Blubbath is male or female, I've never had him or her sexed. I was thinking that was maybe the case though, or else a female looking to lay eggs somewhere.
