So I was pretty excited to breed 2 perfectly spotted cal kings for the first time this year. The female was bred by me and came from a banded male bred to a striped/dashed female. The male I bought from the late Rick Trenny who had been line breeding spotted cal kings for a while.
MANY people (Achem...Kerby...) Told me that spotting was an aberancy that wouldn't be reliably reproducible.
So here are the parents

Out of a clutch of 9. There were 5 spotted, 2 perfect full stripers, and 1 perfect banded. There was only one that looked like something in between. Unfortunately the most perfect spotted one was a male and he escaped 2 days ago...grrr
Here are a few from the clutch...
5 look basically like this

Then there were these

and the only "abberant" (even he is sort of spotted)

I double clutched this pair and her second clutch just hatched. As you can see, every one is spotted to some degree.

Cheers
