V.a.acanthurus= red ackie.
V.a.brachyurus=yellow ackie.
V.a.insulanicus= I know they are found in the Northern Territory, they are different, I believe darker.

Thanks shvar! is it true that yellow ackies are more common? and is it not that in the trade there are mostly cross-ackies available? i mean,they all look so similar to me,and i rarely see true yellow ackies,or true red ackies which are truely red! greetings, barry

Yellows are sold as red to get a higher price from them, after all a price difference of $90-$150 compared to $250-$350 each is quite a bit, especially when someone doesnt know the difference between them. There are some crossed red/yellows out there, they cost around $200 each.
