Nervous Ackie

ackies-rule Nov 03, 2005 10:38 AM

My red ackie is unbelieveably nervous, he will only come out if the room he is in door is closed. otherwise he doesn't come out. If you open the door then he'll rush in to one of his many hidey-holes. You can forget about handling - so how do I combat this. I tried showing him my hand wasn't evil and cleaned him out, but he just bolts

they are all different. i have one that doesnt care what i do and i have another that is just gettin used to me being in the room. theres nothing you can do to make sure youll be able to handle him easily. but if you give it time it will get used to being out of hiding with you in the room. make sure you have an envivornment set up correctly for them temps, substrate, hummidty because having improper husbandry will stress them more and they will then hide more. this is just what ive got from what other people say so if anyone can add or correct me that would help.
