I have been lurking here for some time and finally got a new Tegu. It is a Chilean Dwarf Tegu, about 17" STL. It is quick but sits quietly when you take it out. I was told it is a he, but don't have a name yet. Any suggestions? I know it is not the big Tegu like all of you have but it is a start for me. Someday I hope to have one of the big boys, just wanted to share my excitement with all of you.

If It is a male It will have more orange on its belly and It will have to little bumps on each side of the base of the tail. Good luck Russ

Enjoy your new baby! I've got a chilean dwarf as well. She's great. I rescued her from the room mate of a friend of mine. The guy was only feeding her once a week and she was just sooooo skinny. She came with the name Tweak and I thought it was horrible to name her that. However, as the months progressed and she continued to be a freak when I got her out of her cage, I decided that the name was in fact appropriate and it has stuck. She's a total sweetie though!! Have fun with your little guy!!
