Has anybody else heard that by raising multiple baby ackies in a group setting will result in a probable chance of having a more predominant amount of females? I recently acquired a trio (stellar price too) and they're only 3 mos old so I'm wondering on what ackie breeders are feeling on this subject.....Also, I'm hoping to replicate ProExotics and have these guys/gals breeding at 10 mos but I wanted to get some feedback on everyones experience on that as well...To give you a backround on my husbandry practices with all my ackies: Cage is a galvanized steel cattle water trough that has a lexan (plexiglass) top that has been cut to size and siliconed in to keep humidity at approximately 75-80 percent. The ambient temp is 85-92 degrees and the substrate is decomposed granite which they love to burrow in. I tried using the 75 watt flood light that PE uses but I couldnt get the ambient temp to 85 or a basking spot of 135 degrees so I use a 125 watt heat lamp that was wired with a ceramic fixture to prevent fires and yes it has been grounded for safety.......Oh and I feed them all crickets that have been dusted wth MinerAll 2-3 times a week and ground turkey once a week and the larger breeding adults receive 1-2 small fuzzies a week.......Any input is appreciated.
