Info on my ackie

svictoria Apr 17, 2006 11:09 PM

we got what we thought was a yellow ackie, but is now 8-10 months and showing some brick red colours. Can anyone give me their opinion? I will attach some pics. It is also started to hump arms and shirts. I thought this was male behaviour but have been told femals do this too?? If anyone can tell me what they think Fatty is it would be great. It also rubs its chin and snout around in a funny way and then has bitten twice!!!

looks like a red ackie to me, and a very nice one also. they can do some weird stuff, male or female. ackies are hard to sex by a couple pics. males have broader heads and get a bit bigger. it's hard to go by vent/hemipenes from a couple pictures. if it everts the hemi-?s look for longer ones with a flowery tip which is male vs a small nub w/o the flowery tip. that's the best i can do for you. it's a nice ackie. did you want a yellow for some reason?

He is well taken care of, thank you. No, we were just told he was a yellow but i wasn't sure because his colour started to darken. Although i have heard red ackies tend to be more bitey, is this true?
