Strange ackie behaivor

VaranusAqua Sep 12, 2006 04:36 PM

Well actually i dont even know if its strange. It could be very common for all i know. One of my two ackie is very tolerant of humans, she stays right in the open all the time and scratches at the glass to come out. Sometimes when shes chillin in the soil shell look at me and then her tail wil start to literally slither.

Her body as at a standstill, while her tails looks like an ogranism with a mind of its own. imagine putting a sidwinder rattlesnake on a treadmill. Thats what it looks like.

Has anyone else observed this?

It appears your monitor is waiting for food. They undulate the tail when excited. They get excited at food, other monitors, and things they do not recognize. Its particularly intense when they(ackies or other small species) discover a cricket or better yet a small lizard under a rock. They will dig a little, then pull their head out and watch intensely with their head raised, while undulating their tail. As soon as the prey pops out, bam, its over.

When kimberlys do this with lizards, you will all of a sudden understand kimberlys, their design and build and what they do.

No that is not a weird behavior, but instead a very common normal behavior that many species do.

Congrats, you have just started to see natural inherent behaviors. Cheer
