Commercially Available Cages

boybronco Mar 14, 2007 09:45 PM

Are there any commercially available cages that can be modified to allow for 1 ft of substrate? I'm probably going to have to end up building one and I'm not handy at all so I'm kind of dreading it.

Oh well, worth a shot.

Stock tanks work great for ackies. 4x2x2. Make a top for it and you are good to go.

I was thinking of something a little easier on the eyes that still meets the requirements, at least a foot for substrate.

I dont know of any, that hold the much substrate. I dont think any of the plastic snake cages can hold that much.

I keep my 1.2 adult proven yellow ackies on newspaper as a substrate. I just give them an egg laying sweater box to lay in and they do great. But if you are set on an eye pleasing enclosure with 1 foot of substrate you may want to just use a large tank. say 75 gallon or more for a group.

Hope this helps.
