wanting 2 get into monitors

and i've came to the conclusion that an ackie would be the best choice. i have a 2x6 cage that im in the middle of building and would like to know if it would be better to make it open from the top or side. i'm thinking the top would be better. also, getting a red or yellow is really up to personal preference correct? i've been told that reds get a tad bit bigger and are a little fiestier, if thats the right word.
thanks,
connor

Foot of substrate would be good for them. Open top or front is up to you as long as the substrate is that deep. red or yellow is also up to you. A 6x2 cage would be great for a pair or trio.
