I guess this would apply to any monitor. Do female monitors ever drop infertile eggs, even when not exposed to a male?
Also, once a succesful mating occurs, how long does it take for the female to lay her eggs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. They commonly lay infertiles even without a male. The time from mating until egg laying is usually around 3 weeks.
